Northbound Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo Closed Sunday Night
Closure Details
As of Sunday night, May 14, 2023, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has closed the following segment of Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo:
- Northbound Highway 101 between Los Osos Valley Road and the San Luis Obispo city limits
Reason for Closure
The closure is due to a fatal traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Estimated Reopening Time
The CHP has not yet announced an estimated reopening time. However, drivers should expect the closure to remain in effect for several hours.
Detour Information
Drivers who need to travel northbound on Highway 101 are advised to take the following detour:
- Exit Highway 101 at Los Osos Valley Road.
- Turn left onto Los Osos Valley Road.
- Follow Los Osos Valley Road to South Higuera Street.
- Turn right onto South Higuera Street.
- Follow South Higuera Street to Marsh Street.
- Turn left onto Marsh Street.
- Follow Marsh Street to Highway 101.
- Re-enter Highway 101 at the Marsh Street on-ramp.
